This interactive data visualization conveys the growing crisis of internal displacement from 2013 to 2022. Using data from the 2023 Global Report on Internal Displacement (IDMC), it highlights the sharp rise in forced movements within national borders due to conflict and violence. By 2022, a record 28.3 million people were displaced, with 60% of global displacements stemming from the conflict in Ukraine. The visualization aims to evoke the overwhelming scale and urgency of these crises.
